“When one of our data volumes was reformatted during a weekend server upgrade, it created a serious panic. A huge thank you for returning our files, without which our work ground to halt.”
Ed Goldsmith, Staines
A 6TB Seagate hard disk drive arrived at our laboratory in Oxford from Staines. The hard disk drive was examined by our hardware data recovery engineers revealing there to be no physical problems with the drive. Our data recovery specialists secured a sector-by-sector image of the drive, encountering no unreadable bad sectors during the process.
Our data recovery engineers examined the secured image of the drive revealing it to contain a single 6TB XFS data volume which had been newly formatted. Our data recovery specialists ran an unformat process on the volume which located all the previous metadata entries, allowing all the data to be recovered with the exception of a few directory names. The volume contained approximately 2.8TB of files consisting of several large database files, assorted images, videos, music files and office documents.
